Appearing in 2009 in the back alleys of the Brussels alternative scene, BABY FIRE is a trio driven by angry and haunted rock, powerful and refined. Body and soul of the project, guitarist Dominique Van Cappellen-Waldock grew up between London and the European capital. She travels the metal circuit and the great bastions of punk, including the famous London venue the Marquee Club. One evening at a concert in Brussels, his path crosses that of Ronnie James Dio. Iconic voice of the band Rainbow, hero of metal culture and temporary worker at Black Sabbath, the latter listens to his first demo and encourages him to sing.

The artist shapes his universe by collaborating with personalities on the stages here and elsewhere: Laetitia Shériff, Mike Moya (Godspeed You! Black Emperor), G.W. Sok (The Ex), Eugene S. Robinson (Oxbow) or Eve Libertine and Penny Rimbaud from the group Crass. In 2014, the album ‘The Red Robe’ was released in the heart of Dial House, the legendary HQ of the British punk collective.

Close to the aesthetic of early PJ Harvey or Shannon Wright, Baby Fire announces the release of its 6th album ‘Love Fearlessly’ for spring 2025.

“To venture inside this album of sepulchral beauty, crossed by haunting hammerings and obsessive growls, of this feverish album on which hover the intense shadows of PJ Harvey, Siouxsie or Carla Bozulich, to venture there, to heart of this sonic inferno, is not an easy experience. We nevertheless highly recommend it.”

“It’s been a long time since an album taken at random from the pile of new releases that we receive every day at Radio Campus Grenoble had given me such a slap in the face!” Bertrand Tapas

“… a cake to which we hold our breath, carried by its climates, by its captivatingly immutable progressions, which we fall in love with without possible resistance.” Muzzart.fr
