Chabtan Fr

Formed in 2011 in Paris, Chabtan is a French extreme metal band blending the brutality of deathcore, the technicality of melodic death metal, and deep, hypnotic atmospheres.

From the very beginning, the band established a strong identity with a first self-produced EP, Eleven (2012), inspired by Mesoamerican mythologies, particularly Mayan and Aztec, which at the time shaped its conceptual universe.
In 2015, Chabtan released its first album, The Kiss of Coatlicue, via the label Mighty Music, followed by Nine Levels in 2018 and Compelle Intrare in 2022 via the label DarkTunes.
These releases reveal a powerful, uncompromising sound, balancing controlled violence and dark melody, where the listener is invited on an introspective journey.

The band has gone through several lineup changes and is now composed of Cris Red (vocals), Dimitri Merly (guitar), Augustin Pesnon (guitar), GAAB (bass), and Paul Mora (drums).
Driven by this renewed formation, Chabtan is currently preparing its fourth album, scheduled for 2026.
With this new release, the band explores new sonic dimensions, more atmospheric and emotional, while preserving the raw intensity and sharp identity that have defined its style for over a decade.
