Cousines like Shit is a Vienna-based band formed by cousins ​​Hannah and Laura Breitfuss. Through incisive punchlines, they express their take on societal phenomena and the paradoxes of human nature. Their tracks invite introspection, evoke a sense of feeling trapped, or simply bring a smile to the listener’s face by highlighting the comical nature of certain human behaviors. Their sound defies classification; they describe it themselves as “Avant Trash.” This is also the title of their debut album, released in September 2023 on Seayou Records. The genre they claim reflects their unique style, prioritizing lyrics and simple yet catchy melodies.

Their music blends lo-fi, indie-pop, and a punk attitude with vocal harmonies, punchy basslines, and irony-laden lyrics about the absurdities of society.
