What’s new with Psykup? We last saw them on May 13, 2023, at the height of their powers, having unleashed the madness of their latest album, Hello Karma. The scene is still reeling… Since then, the Toulouse-based band has returned to the studio to deliver a new 12-track album called The Joke Of Tomorrow. This album is a return to their roots for the group, embodying the very essence of their name: “psyche upwards.” Each track is a concentrated burst of raw energy, an unstoppable fusion of convulsive aggression and meticulously crafted melodies, all in a carefree musical blender. Hardcore, jazz, death metal, funk, thrash, and pop mix together to offer an explosive journey, both wild and accessible, where every note pushes the boundaries of madness.
